Was started in 1995 by the Robert Mann family of Lake Oswego, Oregon. And you could say the company was born out of frustration.

Born in the heart of the Siskiyou mountains of northern California, Robert Mann learned to shoot at the side of his father long before he was ten years old. Robert served as a machine gunner with the First Marine Division during the Vietnam War and qualified as a Rifle Sharpshooter, Pistol Expert and Machine Gun Expert. This experience and training helped him understand the elements required for accurate and rapid sight alignment.

By age 50, the ace shooter had trouble lining up his gun sights-and hated every moment of it! Robert realized it was more than just worsening eyesight. After all, it makes no sense to attempt to align three objects-front sight, rear sight and target-all painted a similar color! Where's the contrast? Why not provide that contrast on the sights themselves?

In 1994, Robert began to experiment with different paints and colors. He tried enamel paint, correction fluid and even marking pens. Nothing on the market worked very well. Some just fell off; others quickly cracked, peeled or faded. Paint was not the answer. So Robert started working on different non-toxic chemical mixes to find a contrasting paint that would stay on gun sights even in harsh environments or after the extreme heat of firing several hundred rounds.

Finally Robert found a mix that worked and began testing his first color, green, on his own guns. As other shooters noticed his sights, they wanted in: he painted their gun sights, too. After testing different guns and gun sights under various conditions and harsh environments for almost a year, Robert knew he had found the proper combination. All testers said the same thing: "I can't believe the difference! It really works!" At their request Robert produced other color contrasts: orange, red, yellow and white.

Today BRIGHT SIGHTS High Visibility Gun Sight paints are sold by hundreds of gun dealers across the United States and are used by thousands of satisfied gun owners, gunsmiths, professional hunters, competition shooters, tactical units, special operations groups and law enforcement personnel worldwide.
